Teen Services Librarian
Part Time 25 hrs/wk

The Adult and Teen Services Department seeks qualified applicants for a part-time Teen Services Librarian position. The ideal candidate will be: enthusiastic about working and connecting with teens; creative and detail-oriented; outgoing and motivated, with exceptional customer service skills and an ability to use contemporary technology to promote library services to patrons. In addition to a broad knowledge of current library practices, we are seeking a candidate who demonstrates a specialized understanding of the programming, reference, and materials needs of teens in a suburban community, ages 12 to 18. This position requires the flexibility to work afternoons, evenings, and weekends.

MLIS from an ALA-accredited program required, but current Library Science candidates enrolled in an accredited program may be considered with prior public library experience. Coursework relating to teens preferred. Recent graduates are encouraged to apply.

Compensation starting at $19.15/hour.

This position offers IMRF benefits and pro-rated holidays. After a waiting period this position offers paid vacation and sick hours.
